- Target the 48–72 hour window before full moon if your dates allow
- Book accommodation in Colonia Americana or the Historic Center — both are walkable to Plaza de Armas and Templo Expiatorio; reach Mirador Independencia by Macrobus Line 1 (Mirador terminus) or Uber (~15 min)
- Note that Parque Mirador Independencia closes around 6–7 PM — check moonrise time against park hours before planning; the public viewpoint just outside the park entrance remains accessible after hours

- Check the weather forecast — Nov–Apr gives the clearest skies; May–Oct requires more patience
